Digital Painting VS. Acrylic Painting VS. Watercolor Painting

In art there are many branches such as digital drawing, regular painting, acrylic painting, watercolor painting, etc. They are all similar but still have their differences. All branches of art make us happy and annoyed at times. They all have their advantages and disadvantages.
First up is digital art. I personally use digital art because it is easy for me. An advantage for digital art is that it is fixable. One can always go back and change errors or mistakes. Another advantage is the tools that the digital program comes with. In any digital program such as Paint Tool Sai, Photoshop and more, there are many variations in tools which expand the artistic ability. A disadvantage is that if one did not save the file, and the computer shuts down, the artwork will disappear and one will have to restart everything. Another disadvantage is not knowing how to properly use a digital program. If used incorrectly, the artwork can be messed up or lost/deleted. Which is very annoying!
Second is acrylic painting. Acrylic paint is a mix between watercolor and oil painting. An advantage to acrylic painting is that the paint is water resistant. The painting cannot get any water damage so it is safe. Another advantage is that the paint will not “crack”. On regular paint, if the paint is very old one will begin to see cracks on it. A disadvantage is that if one makes a mistake, and the paint dries before it can be cleaned it will stay that way. The only thing left to do is cover it up with more paint.
Third is watercolor painting. Watercolor is a mixture of paint and water. In this mixture there is more water than paint. Watercolors are usually almost transparent due to the water. An advantage of watercolor is that it dries faster than other paints. Another is that it has great luminosity and mixing the pigment is easy. Also, it is easy to clean up because it already has water. A disadvantage is that mistakes are really hard to cover up. The substance in which the artist is painting on is wet and adding more water can damage the substance. Another disadvantage is the planning. One must plan very carefully before painting. One must choose the colors and the water amount carefully. Not many people have the patience to do this.
Even though they have their differences they do have similarities. One of them are that they are all time consuming. They all involve a long process. Another similarity is that they all begin with sketching. Whether it is on paper or poster they all begin the same way. One last similarity is that they can all be sold to the public. It is a good way to make money with art.
Every branch in art begins the same way but all have a different ending. Art tests our patience. Sometimes things may go wrong and end up giving up on a piece. In time one learns how to deal with the mistakes and eventually become great artist.
